It's a picky day today, I'm going to make some broccoli and stilton soup, to get more broccoli into me. I shall have it with some olives and artichoke hearts. I have some humous too to dip some brown bread into.
I've bought chops for New Years eve to have with red cabbage, carrots, sugar snaps, pak choi etc.
Then I fancy having a curry for New Years Day.
Its Chinese New Year on my son's birthday this year, so prepping of his birthday celebration too. Bought him gardening stuff, seeds, and stuff so that he can grow microgreens.

Appetite is hit and miss these days. Last few days we're sorta cooking for ourselves, nice break for me. He put two FAT porkchops in the crockpot yesterday with some pear/pineapple concoction and made a side of sweet potato, so he had that.
I just made up two boxes of this, because face it, at times we're still 12 years old inside.
That prime rib looked fabulous. Damn, I love beef.

My phone sends me old photos from the same day.
Apparently I made chili a year ago today. Might set out some burger and make it tomorrow. Lots of football on the next few days

Leftover prime rib. Lemon rice w/honey and lavender, black eyed peas and chickpea salad. Prime rib. That's what leftovers do around here. Heh. (All pretty much christmas/new years leftovers I had in the freezer)

I made my own version of Shrimp Scampi today. I skipped the wine, just didn't want to futz that much. I'd asked him if he minded if I used some real butter ("HELL NO!" was the response) due to his restricted diet. I did half olive oil and half butter. Made sautéed portobello mushrooms for the side. He loved it, so it was nice to treat him a bit away from his current diet. He's been so good with it.
I'll get the hang of transferring pictures from the phone to my laptop, it's a bit laborious at the moment.
