CHAGOS ISLANDS DEAL ?
Info about the Chagos Islands has been posted in different threads, due to it being a strategic military base in the Indian Ocean. They are south of the Maldives.

There are 60 Islands in the Chagos Islands.

The Chagos Islands have been home to Chagossians a bourbannais-Creole speaking people until the British expelled them at the request of the US between 1963 and 1973

The main natural resources are Fish and Coconuts. Although they are also called the "Oil Islands".

The first explorers to discover the Islands were Portuguese.

The British government bought the Islands and assets in 1967 for £660,000.

The people that lived there were removed to Mauritius and the Seychelles, although there are also around 3,000 in the UK that would like to go home.

He was, what 4 or 5 yo when he went to Mauritius..?

How long would his shirt, tie and suit last if he got his way to go back to an island with no roads, no housing, no hospitals, no infrastructure at all, just the coconut trees we planted before they were expelled to civility..?

His children and no children younger than him were expelled or were born there - and there is nothing there to be called there - but a memory of a BBQ on a beach...

He ended in Mauritius because his kid sister was ill and there was no help for her on Chagos - she unfortunately still died...

He's emotional not practical, ideological not reasonable, political not realistic...

We expelled (UK) the Chagossians (or whatever) from Diego Garcia in the late 60s to early 70s in order to allow a military base...

There were and are not any other inhabitants - and since the early 70s the only residents were military...

There is not, and was not any culture for Chagoasans to hold or return to - it's a political ploy by Mauritius (France) to weaken UK/US military holding in the South Indian Sea area...

The islands are made up of about 60 atolls - not really a base for a culture or 'country' - it's a group of desert islands...

Who are the indigenous people you speak of, who have not lived there for more than 50 years if ever..?

Who ever owned the group of atolls - if not France (who ceded them to Britain after the Napoleonic wars) and Britain who has managed it since then..?

We can and should do what the fuck we like with it - except give it away to France/Mauritius - it is an exceptional strategic military asset, which we should gain favour from the USA for allowing them access to - (do we charge them for their base/s on our land..?) - Trump plays hard, we can match by telling them to pay up for Diego Garcia base if they don't already, plus any base on UK (proper) soil - works both ways, we should pay for any base we have on US soil also - my guess is we come out winning on the real estate fees...

My point - there is not a REAL community/culture being deprived of land/infrastructure - a few 'island dwellers' were sent to civilisation, over 50 years ago, and there is and never was any civilisation on the Chagos other than military bases...

It's ours, it's strategic, it's valuable and that's why the socialists/globalists don't want us to have it...

If I had my own way I'd have us (UK) train our military there, especially engineering corps, and use them to build and run oil, gas and rare earth minerals mining for the UK with the military taking 10% of profit to invest etc...

Another 30% going back to UK tax payers to reduce their costs and 60% into the treasury...

They got called the "Oil Islands" for a reason...

We own them, no-one lives there, we should do what the fuck we like beyond serious environmental damage (oil spills etc)...

Why not build some "open prisons" for those we need to deport who won't be accepted by their nation of origin - no nation, no citizenship, maybe a new Australia waiting to happen - but meh - we survived that deportation episode of history...

Who is going to pay for the infrastructure development of Chagos if it is re-inhabited by people likely only brought there by slavery ships - they can't develop themselves, so who will pick up the bill for creating hospitals, schools, training doctors etc (which they never had before)..?

Do you side with this ideological leftie loonie or the side that says - it's been uninhabited for over 50 years we owe you nothing...

What did we deprive them of - there is nothing there, never was...

1dunno1

Trying to find a fuck to give to this other than - the Chagos are ours (UK) and should remain so as it's strategically significant and potentially lucrative to the UK...
I do not know everything, I know just enough to know that I know nothing - which is just a little more than those who think they know anything!

What do they think they would be better if they got to go to Chagos - no food production, no clothing, no roads, no hospitals, no schools, shit no HOMES/HOUSES - oh so hard done by in their nice clothes and warm buildings on Mauritius or UK - but, WHAAH let us go to the home we barely if ever knew - now how about those billions in recompense to start our culture that never was..?

Fuck that shit - move to Liberia...
