I have a strong feeling they ain't paying for it, either.

Well, if you live with a dairy freak, yeah you're gonna make sure the house has milk, half & half...

I'm the bread freak in the house, I've been teased about it for years (and at times lightly scolded) for having too much. Well, what? Depends on what your menu is for the week, right? Sandwiches? Spaghetti? Breakfast for dinner? Yeah, I need choices.

@Karu - we always by Dave's bread for the last year, it's expensive but it has come down some recently. Usually close to $7/loaf. Now down a dollar. What I broke down and bought after his stroke (he's supposed to eat more whole grains) is Ezekiel Bread, which is in the frozen section. 100% whole grain, no flour and really good if you don't mind heavy breads. Ezekiel brand is close to $8/loaf but with Mr. Wonderful's meds now, it REALLY helped with constipation.

I made bread the other day, organic white and wheat flour. Only used 1/2 wheat in 6 cups of white, and still sticky as heck. How do people deal with knowing the dough is the right texture when doing ALL wheat flour?

You can easily grind your own wheat berries and make truly fresh bread...it doesn't taste like bread made from the ground flour that you can buy...it's so much better. I use one of these and buy organic hard red wheat berries bulk. If you want any info about it you can post it here or pm me...(for a good recipe too.)

If you make your own granola...add more wheat bran for constipation problems.
If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.
