Happy Thanksgiving!
Now then, what to do with leftovers! My refrigerator isn't big enough! Can green bean casserole be frozen?

If I remove the milk and feed it to the dogs and pigs, the turkey carcass will fit on that shelf. Tomorrow the meat can be sliced and packaged in ziplocks and the bones put in the pressure cooker for broth. And the cow will replace the milk.

Oh, deer! Why did we cook so much food?

The internet says that I can freeze the green bean casserole.

"How do you freeze an already cooked casserole?
To freeze it after baking, first ensure it is in a freezer-safe casserole dish or transfer it to one. Cool the casserole to room temperature, then wrap the cooled casserole well in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 3 months.Aug 23, 2024"

I don't know how I lived without my vacuum sealer all those years. My freezer is full of airtight bags written on with a Sharpie

After thawing it turns to green bean goulash (read); slop.

Ask me how I know. Anon

It was just Me and Mom this year, and yes, we still cooked too much food.

We're handling the shame well though.

Glad to see ya all still alive and kickin' leftovers around! I had some good laughs and ate too much. Bro and I discussed why his grass was still green. We raised our eyebrows while the rest of the fam went huh? Only one voted the other way, but we couldn't do the dance, cause she's great nana and prone to fits.

All and all a wonderful time, glad it was for ya'all too!

Yep

Been up since 1:30am (headache/pain) and am still here. Managed to hang in all day. It's only the two of us, so no huge thing. Mr. Wonderful requested my homemade chicken pot pie, which I gladly obliged.

Also, in memory of Alice Brock, made a dessert recipe from her cookbook that I bought for my guy several years back. While prepping it all I found the movie Alice's Restaurant for free on YouTube, so definitely watched it.

@Karu - and I made even MORE potholders in-between dinner and dessert prep.

And no, I have no idea what I'm going to do with them all.  Chuckle

They are nice gifts but you could also create a little wall art....

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.
