Most of our peeps relied on family for taking care of personal damages ~ they were that dedicated to getting the lights on.
The supervisory employees on the response team could NOT evacuate ~ we had to stay in town either at company or city safe locations. I also liaised with the county to let them know what was where and translate electric maps with city maps so they had a clue wtf was being repaired. Didn't care for being out of touch, but it all worked out. Honestly, I did prefer that gig to the food & lodging thing ~ that chore was later separated into two groups.

I really think after this latest round of mismanagement from the federal monstrosity that people will return to tribalism.
Trusting people they know rather than Trusting a faceless, nameless, heartless group of losers who couldn't succeed in the private sector.
The people on my road will be here digging me out of the rubble before the first federal agency even knows there's a problem
