Is Silver Worth $1000 Per Ounce? What If It Already Was?
If it was a thousand bucks an ounce, I would be sitting in the Caribbean and some one else would be mowing my lawn.
Doin' what I can with what I got

Just here to tell anyone who doesn't know, that the old ratio of silver to gold from the 1700's
does not apply in the modern age whatsoever.

The reason has nothing to do with any discrimination against silver, it is a simple fact of industrial mining.

Anyone who isn't telling you this is either ignorant of history or has an agenda.

In pre-industrial times, although it is true that gold was rarer than silver, they didn't know how much rarer it truly was,
and thus, more difficult to mine it would become. The ratio was 15-1, then 18-1 by the 1830's, as mining increased.

Another effect would take place along with the industrial age, that the Gold Rush basically sucked up all the easy pickins on the surface
and low-level subsurface for gold. Then, large-scale mechanical mining and discovery technologies were introduced, and all the best mines
for gold were the first ones to be exploited. This was when they found out for sure how much more silver than gold there truly is.

Over the decades, mining industry advances impacted the supply, and the markets and governments adjusted their gold/silver ratios
based upon these natural facts. It is not possible for the pre-industrial ratios to ever happen again.

If so, My wife and I would be millionaires. I have purchased silver and copper since I was 26 except for the last 5. For the kids. She keeps track of that chit. I would have heard.

It's a poor persons investment. Truth and chance nothing more.

I’ve been buying silver eagles every year since they came out. I think my total is around 103.
If you count the silver blanks and old coins I could probably cover my expenses for a year. It’s not enough to buy an island cabana though. I hope they will never be spent in my lifetime and then my grandson can become a hoarder after I’m gone.
