I have a 6 year old grand daughter with dolls. She loves her dolls. She is a responsible doll mommy. Her dolls do not lie around naked.
In fact I made them a bed so they can sleep in a bed.

I have been asked to take apart two of her favorite dresses and use the fabric to make doll dresses. It's been many years since I have sewn dolly clothes.
This is my first practice run using some scraps that I had on hand.

My granma used to make my dolly’s clothes.

Decades later I found a scrap of material that was one of the patterns she had used. Dress, Dolly and Granma long gone, but when I saw this?

It was a hug across time.
I saved this. I’ll resin it and use it in some other project.

I love you Granma. I miss you.
Thank you for all your love and kindness. You are remembered.

I do have a blank canvas sitting on my easel, and no idea what to paint.  Suggestions accepted.

I did mention the 5D painting in the old thread.  Here is a video of what it is.

Well, that's a bit easier than it looks! And far easier than my (vintage) latch hook rug since it has guidelines/numbers for colors. Thanks for showing me this!

I can build from a kit or from scratch, it depends on what you want.
The most difficult build was a 1 foot tall model of a Saturn V F-1 Rocket Engine !
Took about a year and 3 trips to the Johnson's Space center in Houston to take pictures of the only remaining F-1 engines to get everything right.
I got $4000 for that build.

Pictures or it didn't happen. Chuckle

Awww, what a great grandmother you are! I think you did wonderful. If you have a JoAnne's near you, they have quite sized packages of fabric that might work for your efforts here.

*YOU JUST REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING*

Not sure if I got it off Etsy or eBay, and I KNOW I have a pic of it somewhere but these were popular when I was growing up with Barbie. I found one uncut, not this one but these things. When I was working a temp that was older than myself suggested I frame it and not put it together, but I'm a fan of giving NOS (new old stock) the life it was meant to have. Maybe if I can find it in my Barbie bins in the basement, I'll use it as my first voyage into sewing again!

Remember these?

I don't remember those fabric patterns for Barbies. I did however buy a piece of fabric with cut outs for the Muppets, to sew into stuffed pillow characters. The children had them for several years until they were worn out.

My girls weren't very interested in dolls, either baby dolls or Barbies. I remember one doll that got kidnapped by their brothers and when it was found in the back yard it looked like the Frank-n-doll in the movie Toy Story.

I was collecting photos of this build to post.
But some people "demanded" that "I post it now".
So I decided to to not post anything !
