Buy the best ones possible. Didn't know until this year that you can buy soy-free eggs.
SOY-FREE EGGS, whaaa?! Sure, they've got to add hormone replicators to eggs, too.
NO to Whole Foods, and NO to Fresh Thyme, which just sold hamburger meat to me wrapped by its butchers - previous day's brown meat wrapped in today's red (and probably dyed at that) meat. Owned by Meijer's. I no longer trust Fresh Thyme with all its bio-engineered foods on the shelves while advertising itself as "healthy, natural and local." Even buying from a farmer, I'd like to see the feed bags and question everything.
Natural Grocers is the most trustworthy health food store I've found in Iowa, GMO stalwart state, short of having one's own chickens and mixing their feed oneself after carefully ascertaining those ingredients. Crazy time, and hope we all live to see safe store-bought food again that doesn't try to modify our dna or sicken us slowly.
Hellman's insistence on soy, rapeseed and canola brought me to making my own, and I thanked them in an email for doing so.
