Court upholds FAAs requirement for remote ID on quads (drones)

Amazon, T Mobile, Airbus, AirMap, Intel, OneSky, Skyward and Alphabet’s drone subsidiary, Wing were the 8 that dictated the remote ID specification to the FAA.
At one time the specification wanted remote ID to be broadcast over LTE links even in poor coverage areas. There's at least two on the board who would have thought that idea up. It was taken out later from the requirement.

The court case.

The judge threw out the idea that remote ID was warrantless government surveillance.

We still never got an answer of what all those quads were flying near nuclear plants in Nebraska and Colorado. Oh, it doesn't look they are doing anything mischievous.

This court opinion is reading more like remote ID is practically drive by law enforcement, and the FAA has to be consulted for the owners information and poses no constitutional (namely the fourth) violations for something in public view with no expectation of privacy.
Hmmm...if your neighbor is even able to pick up a serial number of the drone using a common device, I imagine the LEO will probably have to ask questions about the activity involved and may not even show up. Maybe? Sounds like a lot of effort and nothing comes of it.

The FAA has exceptions to the Fourth Amendment?

What the government gained for themselves post 9/11 was the ability to take away Fourth Amendment protections and be subjected to nuddie scanners run by criminal total sexual assault agents. Hey forget the porn sites, when I can see them girls nude and even touch in forbidden places where we know damn well they aren't even suspicious. Of course they don't even know what they are looking for, but the government just happened to know what the weaknesses in their own system were and promptly exploited them. We were offered an effective profiling system that Israel used, but our government refused. This was so much better violating basic liberties. Of course this is the way it goes when 9/11 was claimed to be an inside job whereas the government was sponsoring domestic terrorism. Our Founding Fathers called the tyrants nothing more than your typical terrorist.

There was a previous situation where there was a protest about quad registration that would even be required of the model RC fliers as they have been their own thing operating from their private fields. But now even model RCs have been put under the quad regulation umbrella. Somebody advised Trump for whatever reason that with the reauthorization act to put the quad registration scheme back in place. It would've been real troubling for the model RC guys to have to register every single model RC that they had ever owned whether it was even still flying or not. They allowed them to have a single registration for all of the model RCs to alleviate that.
