Is that what they call it?
I'm referring to the one they use in car accidents.  Jar people out of the car.  Opening jars is just about as impossible especially cans.  The door is now a jar.   Chuckle
In the UK jars are glass and cans are tin. That gadget doesn't open tins, I have a tin opener for that, although more and more tins now have a lip like coke tins. Although its annoying when it breaks off and you still have to use a tin opener.  Chuckle
Some people embraced big pharma to change nature whereas I listened to Jesus and embraced nature to improve the change. The heavenly Father said, "This is my daughter in whom I am well pleased". 18.1.2020.

A cutting board scissors.

Or a multifunction kitchen scissors.

Spring loaded too.

Cut it and drop it right into the frying pan.
How is that better than the Knife? I'm a semi-chef. That is stupid as stupid gets.

Saves having to get out the cutting board I suppose.  A little less clean up perhaps.

Maybe it'll cut the cheese. Chuckle

I have a device that helps me do that, but it's not nearly as big. It's probably twice the size of a manual operated can opener with the handle on top that turns in a horizontal plane. You just unscrew it to the size of the jar lid, then put it on the lid then turn the handle.

If that won't work I usually run it under hot water to expand the metal then I use the tool again. It's kind of like this one but the handle is wood and the body is a much better grade of steel. They don't construct tools with the same materials and quality of workmanship anymore.

That's a nice gadget, can it slice garlic or onion nice and thin?

Haven't tried that yet although I did get a few thin slices of apple not trying to. I have a garlic slicer though.

I'm sure that's the bane of lots of recipes.
