I haven't had a bit of trouble out of mine. I got 276,000 miles out of a pt cruiser.
It was still running fairly good when I abandoned it when I moved to NM for a few years.

A lot of my Ford and Chevy friends make fun of my Ram. Hey it is bad ass. 3 inch lift, offsets with skirts. And it was 395 HP. But that was not my way. It now has 485 HP. It tows better than any Ford oil burner. But it cannot compete with a Cummins. 

I haven't done anything to mine but I do like that Hemi when you romp into it. 395 is good but
485 HP is nothing to sneeze at, It must be like a rocket. Mine has the 3.92 gears, it will get up and go.

Mine has the 3.92 gears also. I could go to 4.12 but milage would suffer. But I only get 15 on the highway. about 10 around town. I also have a borla exhaust. I shouda never done that. Now I love the sound of the pipes. My wife says I am crazy.   It ain't ta good deer hunting rig. They can here me coming for miles.

Yeah like why doesn't anything get better than 30mpg?

The big oil keeps killing off anything that can do better than that.  There have been several inventions that were capable of it.

Gasohol, and replacing the engine's oil with sodium silicate so that it doesn't pollute again  (cash for clunkers program).

I had a real bad experience with the "new gas" about 11 years ago, right after E-85 came out.  Pulled into a gas station in Fort Lupton, Colorado to fuel up before we headed up the mountain.  Riding a 2001 Road King with fuel injection.  Pumped in about 4 gallons of gas(in a 5 gallon tank) labeled 91 octane, and went on our way.  About 30 miles down the road, had a little sputter, another mile or two a distinct miss, and another half mile....dead bike.

To make a long story short, the lining in my gas tank disintegrated and ruined the tank, strands of the lining plugged the injectors and fuel regulator.  800 miles from home.  Sold the bike in Colorado to a mechanic at the dealership who could buy the parts at a discount.  Total bill was going to be around $2100 to me, including labor  He could buy all the parts for around $1100.  We unstrapped our T-Bags, rented a car, and drove back to Missouri.

Here's the good part.......the mechanic I sold the bike to called me about a week later and told me that they had two more cases come in just like mine, and these were the only three cases of this they had ever seen.  All of us had fueled at the same station in Ft. Lupton.  The fuel truck driver had put E-85 in the 91 octane underground tank, and 91 in the E-85 tank.  Alcohol completely gutted and ruined the entire fuel system, including gas tank.

Why aren´t there more diesel engines in the US?

Since everybody seems to drive large trucks, this would be a no brainer for any eurofag.

My van gets 200 hp out of a 2 liter engine and gets around 40 miles per gallon.

All the Europeans mostly went Diesel.

Americans love their gas powered hot rods.

Diesel powered Jaguar SUV.

Global Warming was started because of the smoking choking automobile. But even then that was back at a time when the octane grade of fuel was a lot lower.  It was more of a problem in California.  

Then along came this inventor of the internet.  (or the smut that slows it down).



He kept listening to this guy talking about the smog in California.  And invented this problem called global warming. Which is part of the reason for all this save the environment nonsense. Just using it to get us back to the preindustrial age and the futile system.



16 tons what'd you get? Poor gas mileage and farther behind.
