Not exactly dinner.  Brunch. Lemon/blueberry scones, Faux Devonshire cream (quick and dirty recipe), and homemade cherry jam. Was thinking of you, @ELIAKIM Heh.

That looks lovely @Pure Rock Fury I was at the beach today, so had a smoked salmon salad followed by strawberries and cream.

Just having my first coffee of the day.

Wow, this thread died! Last post in July? I had to go back 4 pages to find it!

ANYWAY, tonight is cream of broccoli soup with crackers.

Went grocery shopping earlier for Christmas dinner fixings. Depending on my energy, it'll either be stew beef with Trader Joe's onion soup in the crock pot, or a whole roasted chicken in the oven. Since my energy is iffy these days, I've been buying the store brand of pre-mashed potatoes - only 3 ingredients: potatoes, milk and pepper. They're pretty good considering not home-made. Peas as the veg. If chicken, then whole cranberry sauce on the side.

So, what's everyone else doing tonight and for the Christmas?

Try to replace potatoes with swede, I roast swede like potatoes, what we call swede, you call Turnip in America, don't know what you call what we call turnips. One medium sized potato has around 80 mg of oxalates and you only excrete 30mg a day. So has soon as you eat a potato you are in overload.

I know its hard, I ate normally over Christmas and New Year and have paid the priced for doing so, suffered because of it cos allergies kicked off about it. It's hard to get through Christmas without mine pies, Christmas cake, roast potatoes etc.

We are going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow, so decided to have a light supper this evening. I cooked roast chicken for New Year, so had some lovely brine for the soup. Today I fancied some Broccoli and Stilton Soup. Homemade is not cheap when I factor in the cost of the cheese and cream. But it was delicious and I can freeze the rest to eat another day.

I had a slice of german black rye bread with it.

I'm allergic to yeast, my eyelids blow up and they start peeling. Its awful. Hence, I have to strongly restrict myself on bread, all types of bread.

I had salmon, baby broccoli, chestnut mushrooms and courgette.

Followed by ice cream and white grapes.

Nice and light and easily digestible.

Sweet chilli chicken pizza and coleslaw. Didn't fancy cooking this evening. Changed the bed and washing instead.

Ice cream and white grapes next.

If and when I have a sweet tooth, i have a date or two. I've always liked squishy dates. When my son was young he used to spend £1 of his pocket money to buy him mum some dates for Christmas.
